cPanel and CloudLinux license checks: what to verify
Published Oct 24, 2026 · By ProviderCheck Editorial
Match the server IP, product scope and review date when using official license portals. Software detection and license verification are different findings.
Knowing the control panel name is not the same as knowing its license status. A useful review identifies a product, server target and observation date.
Identify the correct server IP
The company website may use a different IP from the server hosting a customer account. A CDN address may not identify the origin server. Ask the provider to explain which target IP belongs to the service being reviewed.
Use cPanel’s official source
cPanel directs users to its official verification portal. Its support instructions describe an IP-based check. Match the reported product and target to the service. A result for one IP does not cover every server operated by the company.
Review the CloudLinux scope
The CloudLinux Network documentation describes its public server license check. Compare the submitted IP and product scope in the CLN tool. Additional evidence may be needed for the relevant product or seller relationship; avoid drawing a company-wide conclusion from one screenshot.
Classify uncertainty accurately
A verified finding needs matching source, product, target and scope. A pending finding requires further review. An unable-to-verify result means sufficient independent evidence was not obtained. A network failure is not proof of an unlicensed installation.
Submit useful evidence safely
Provide product name, target IP or domain, date and scope. Do not publish passwords, API secrets or usable license keys. Redact unnecessary fields and use a private evidence channel.
Follow the review in ProviderCheck
Customers with confirmed payment for the relevant provider can submit documents in the license and authorization dossier. Uploading evidence does not itself verify the claim. Start with the hosting company checklist and follow the subsequent source-based review.
Check your company or service provider
Review a provider profile or start a verification application for your company. Payment does not purchase verified status.
